2022 Annual Art Show

The Sanford Brush & Palette Club cordially invites you to our 57th Annual Art Show.  Held in the Bob E. Hales Center at 147 McIver Street in Sanford, this show will run from October 1st to the 8th and feature original artwork by local, member artists.  We anticipate that there will be about 1000 works on display.  Come and meet the artists and enjoy the beautiful artwork.  The schedule for the Art Show is:

  • Saturday, October 1:       10 am to 6 pm
  • Sunday, October 2:           1 pm to 6 pm
  • Monday, October 3:         11 am to 6 pm
  • Tuesday, October 4:        11 am to 5 pm
  • Wednesday, October 5:  11 am to 5 pm
  • Thursday, October 6:       11 am to 5 pm
  • Friday, October 7:             11 am to 9 pm
  •  Saturday, October 8:      10 am to 4 pm

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.  The Hales Center is handicapped accessible with free parking nearby.

Activities

This is an exclusive preview event for those invited to take part in this year’s Patron of the Arts program.   Participating Patrons and their guests will be invited to view and purchase artwork before the Art Show opens to the public. 

Become a Patron

Member artists are invited to “Mix & Mingle” at the Hales Center  from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.   At 7:00 pm, the awards presentation program begins.   

Several of our artists will be at the show working on various projects.  Meet the artists, ask questions, and learn about materials and techniques.  Social distancing observed. 

Take a tour!  These free 45-minute tours offer a fun and informative view of the art show and its artists.  Our tours this year are for small groups of 6 or fewer people.  Social distancing observed.

There will be a Holiday Art “shop” at the show this year.  Festive art for the Christmas season will grace note cards, ornaments, paintings, sculptures and so on.  Great gift ideas may be found here!

When you enter the show, be sure to sign the Guest Register.  Each day, we pick the name of a visitor to receive the door prize for that day.  These terrific prizes are donated by local artists, businesses and individual sponsors.

Looking for a fun activity to enjoy with friends and family? Try our Art Show Scavenger Hunt!  Pick up the questionnaire at the entrance and the hunt begins.  There will be a prize drawing at the end of the week.  Happy Hunting!

Join us on Friday night (October 7th) for Art After Dark. Our doors will be open late (6 pm to 9 pm), so come enjoy the art show after hours. There will be a little night music and some fun.  No refreshments allowed at the venue this year.  Social distancing observed.

Enter to win one of three  original art pieces.  They will be raffled off on Saturday, October 8th at 1:00 pm.  Tickets may be purchased during the Art Show.   Raffle tickets are $1 per ticket or $5 for 6 tickets.   Ticket holders must be 18 years or older but need not be present to win.

"Hickory House Fall Morning" by Doug Rowe

First Prize

The depicted landscape is just off of Hickory House Road in Sanford.  Doug took the reference photo in the early fall and was captivated by the sun on the trees and the morning mist in the field in the background. Beauty is all around us waiting to be appreciated.

"Mr. Fish" by Reggie Carde

Second Prize

A whimsical wooden carving of a fish.   Reggie’s quirky 3-D wooden fish are popular with local collectors.  A great opportunity for a lucky ticket holder.  Reggie’s paintings and sculptures are influenced by expressionist and folk artists.
