Art Angels for Budding Artists (AABA) is our crown jewel of programs because it is where we can make the biggest difference in the lives of Lee County youth by helping inspire and support their desire to create.
Many students in our country do not have the financial support to purchase the art supplies they need, and so, go without. This is where Art Angels can help. In addition to individuals, we also supplement art supplies to aid the art teachers in Lee County classrooms as needed. As an example, for the past several years we have been able to provide enough clay and/or glazes for every child in an art program in Lee County schools to participate in a clay project.
Art Angels is funded through several sources including private donations of cash and supplies, money from the art raffle at our fall show and donations of instructional books and all sorts of materials from our club’s membership. Recently the leadership of the Sanford Arts & Vine Festival donated 20% of every ticket sold for the festival to this program. This donation significantly increased the scope of what the program has been able to accomplish.
Our other programs include providing educational demonstrations and hands-on activities during our annual art show, in-school demonstrations and talks, participation in career days, and help art projects as requested by various organizations.
If you would like to make a donation to Art Angels for Budding Artists or would like to speak with someone about this program, please feel free to contact us.
