The Sanford Brush & Palette Club began as a group of friends with artistic interests, gathered around a table. In an effort to ‘bring members back to the table,’ the Fun Day idea was implemented. Fun Day was envisioned as a way for members to simply get together and create together and rekindle friendships or make new ones.
Our very first Fun Day was July 22nd, an event open to members and their guests. Over twenty creative folks came out to the Mann Center of NC to make cards. SBPC Board Members Maria Rowe and Jennifer Hogan were the facilitators for the morning and organized the first-time event. They were helped immensely by Tom and Renee Snell of Hawkins House Events, who offered a space for the Fun Day festivities and made waffles for all of the artists in attendance. Some artists donated cards to be given to local nonprofits to encourage members of our community face hardships, to show appreciation to our military and military families, and to brighten the lives of Lee County senior citizens.
