Grab lunch or an early dinner at The Steele Pig. It’s really a treat to find a place like The Steele Pig, where food is made with care and dedication. Just point to anything on the menu – you can’t go wrong! Take a peek at their lunch specials or see what’s for dinner. Take a few moments to enjoy your meal, talk over everything you saw at the show, and feel good about supporting a local restaurant while making your tastebuds VERY happy. (Bonus: Go to The Steele Pig *after* seeing any Friday or Saturday Temple show and your ticket stubs earn you a discount on dinner!)
Laugh the evening away at The Temple Theatre’s production of Clue: The Musical. One of the absolute gems of Sanford is The Temple Theatre. Local productions, special events, music, comedians, the Temple has it all. If you remember Clue the movie or the board game, you’ll love this take on the famously funny who-done-it. At the November 14th meeting, we welcomed Sanford Brush & Palette Club‘s President-elect Gael Hogan (left) as we thanked outgoing President Karen Tatum (right) for her generosity of time, spirit and leadership over the past two years.
At the November 15th general meeting, Sanford Brush & Palette Club members came bearing gifts. Bags and bags of new art supplies were piled into a crate near the elevator doors, which quickly overflowed into a larger pile on the floor.
The supplies were collected for The Salvation Army of Lee County‘s Christmas “Joy Program” which provides toys and clothing for Lee County children. The donated art supplies are part of our Art Angels program and will supplement some childrens’ gifts, filling where items are needed. It’s our way of continuing our mission of promoting interest in the visual arts, while also helping out another local nonprofit organization and supporting our fellow (younger!) artists.
A huge THANK YOU to our generous members for helping in this endeavor.

Some people think of Julia Roberts, pizza, and pre-Steel Magnolias nostalgia when they hear “Mystic, Connecticut.” Sanford Brush & Palette Club members will instead smile warmly and say, “That’s where Ruth Chandler lives now.”
Despite many purchases, every single piece from the judged show is still in place for you to view! Come on out today and see the art, read the stories, and meet the local artists who keep your community colorful and color-filled.
